Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner is designed to be only used on certain wheel types, which are manufactured from chemically sensitive metals. Traditional wheel cleaners cannot be used on these wheels, and an “acid free cleaner” product is required.
Custom Wheel Cleaner is suitable for all wheel types including alloy, lacquered alloy, steel, chrome, painted, anodised and plastic finishes.
If you have split rims these should be washed with Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner.
Pro Tips:
Check your car manufacturers guide to determine whether your car’s wheels must only have an acid free cleaner used.
Avoid spraying on your brake discs by using a cloth to apply the cleaner.
Move the car forward by half a wheel’s length during cleaning so that the underside of spokes can be accessed more easily.
How to use
1. Ensure the wheels are cool to touch. Working on hot wheels may cause the cleaner to evaporate and result in damage.
2. Apply the cleaner liberally from the bottom up, coating the wheel surface. Custom Wheel Cleaner can also be applied to tyre side walls to remove dirt and old dressings.
3. Use the specially designed Autoglym wheel brush to work methodically from the bottom up, concentrating on any dirt trap areas. Finish by cleaning the tyre wall.
4. Finally rinse thoroughly, ensuring all cleaner is removed and move onto the next wheel.
5. If any stubborn black spots remain after cleaning these are probably tar spots. These need to be removed with Intensive Tar Remover
